MetaDesign Develops Online Brand Appearance for iGuzzini

San Francisco, CA (PRWEB) December 19, 2011

As what typically occurs with busy, innovative companies, the iGuzzini website had grown organically for 10 years. Recognizing this and looking to create a fresh approach to their digital and social media needs, iGuzzini asked MetaDesign to develop a new online concept for their brand.

A company established in 1958 from family entrepreneurs, iGuzzini are experts in the ‘culture of light.’ This role distinguishes them from their competitors through their offer of expertise far beyond the purely commercial, and strategically positions them as thought leaders within the lighting sector.

MetaDesign developed different scenarios on how to visually translate the thought leadership of iGuzzini into an appealing, modern and user-friendly online ໒( ❛ั Ĺ̯ ❛ั )७ installment loan online for bad credit ┌( ◐ o ◐ )┐ experience. A content approach was developed which reorganized information into five simple, logical themes. A page structure was then created allowing engaging content to become immediately visible.

Having completed some the world’s most prestigious lighting projects and with an immense portfolio of award-winning products, the website had to stimulating and compelling. The new site design is dominated by striking image stories, which through the use of expanding functionality and image carousels, allows the user to dig down into complex detail. The right side area – defined by the iGuzzini core brand color orange – is dedicated to a selection of user-friendly tools for finding information and navigating quickly. A soft rainbow palette color-codes the five topic themes throughout the rest of the site.

With an extensive presence it was also important for the new site to be multilingual and provide subsidiaries with the opportunity to display their own material. The solution was to allow localized content to be prioritized over global content within the CMS while retaining the integrity of the single global design solution.

Piergiovanni Ceregioli, Research Center & Communications Director at iGuzzini and responsible for all online projects, comments ?For iGuzzini the new website was a big, brave move that reflects what our brand stands for today. We are glad that MetaDesign were there once again for this journey as the end result is very convincing and we are proud of it.?

Mature trees and a private location make Ashbury Woods? Germantown condos among the nicest metro Milwaukee condo communities. The 24-acre all-play-no-work community created by Fiduciary Real Estate Development is currently featured in the JSOnline Development Spotlight article titled ?Ashbury Woods Condominiums: Affordability in the heart of Germantown.?

The JSOnline House and Home Section article reports on the home-buying experience of Christy and Eric Westfall. The couple, who enjoy camping and exploring the great outdoors with their beloved pooch, fell in love with Ashbury Woods. The Germantown pet-friendly condo community offered them the chance to leave property maintenance to professional groundskeepers so they could spend their time swimming in the pool, playing tennis or basketball in the community courts, or simply kicking up their feet in their living room.

?We like the wooded area of the property?there are places to walk the dog,? says Christy in the article. ?It feels like we?re in the country, but we?re close to shopping.? Nearby seasonal activities include strawberry, apple and pumpkin picking and snowmobiling. The natural terrain of the Kettle Moraine makes it a perfect playground for outdoor enthusiasts all year round.

In addition to the location, the Westfalls say they were attracted to the idea that they would not have to spend their free time shoveling snow or cutting the lawn. They liked the oversized rooms and walk-in closets in each bedroom. They were also impressed by the thoughtful renovations Fiduciary Real Estate Development made when converting the complex from condos to apartments.

Every unit is updated with new cabinets, granite countertops, stainless steel appliances, flooring, moldings, lighting fixtures and hardware. Units also contain washers and dryers. ?They did a really nice job with the upgrades,? said Christy. ?It looks and feels new.?

With one-bedroom, one-bath units starting at $ 79,900?Asbury Woods is a true value. And?like with all real estate?it?s all about the location. New Website Boasts Impressive Collection of Stainless Steel Cookware

Fritz Creek, Alaska (PRWEB) December 19, 2011

Consumers are becoming savvy about the foods they put in their bodies and the methods used to prepare meals. Health-conscious web entrepreneur Dianne Jones has created a new online cookware store, http://www.JonesE-Store.com, where consumers can shop for the best in stainless steel cookware and kitchen gadgets.

?As a cook, I?m all about preparing healthy meals,? said Jones. ?Nutrition is so important. People fail to realize that the materials pots and pans are made of can effect the nutritional value of food.?

Stainless steel is the ideal cookware material because it distributes heat evenly, does not scratch easily, does not react with alkaline or acidic foods, and does not leech harmful chemicals. Through JonesE-Store.com, customers can purchase Carl Weill and MERT stainless steel minimum moisture, low heat cookware sets that range in size from five pieces to 16 pieces. Select five and 10 liter stainless steel pressure cookers, 2.6 and 3.2 quarts casserole pans, and a 23 quart covered stock pot to round out a collection of pots and pans.

Cutlery by Sterlingcraft? lends elegance to any table from a kitchen breakfast nook to a formal dining room table. Slitzer? and KLUG? knives when sharpened to perfection make slicing and dicing a breeze. Unique stainless steel kitchen gadgets, like the EdgeStar deluxe mini kegerator and draft beer dispenser and ornate electric tea samovars, are popular purchases. Stainless steel is also an excellent material for outdoor cooking items, including the Chefmaster? 19 piece barbeque set and the Aussie Grills Adventurer portable grill.

?I want to emphasize that all of these stainless steel kitchen items are going to help foods retain nutrients,? said Jones. ?Plus, stainless steel cookware is beautiful ? the pots and pans can be left out in the open to enhance the look of a kitchen.?

The goal of the company is to provide superior quality cookware at affordable prices. In keeping with those commitments, Jones is constantly on the lookout for the latest and greatest stainless steel pots, pans, utensils, and gadgets. Orders are filled and shipped promptly throughout the contiguous U.S. Customer feedback is always welcome and responded to in a timely manner by a friendly, knowledgeable staff member.

Saratoga Springs, NY (PRWEB) December 13, 2011

Name Bubbles, the award-winning personalized name labels company, announced the results of their global giving program to support Water For People, a non-profit organization that brings long-lasting water and sanitation solutions to 11 developing countries in Asia, Africa, South and Central America.

Name Bubbles made an initial $ 10,000 donation to Water For People in 2010 and pledged earlier this year to donate $ 1.25 of every bag tag purchased on the Name Bubbles company Web site to the campaign. Customers were offered the option of selecting a personalized bag tag, either a dog tag ($ 2) or carabiner-style tag ($ 2.50), and Name Bubbles donated $ 1.25 for each bag tag selected for purchase. In total, Name Bubbles raised $ 14,000 for Water for People in 2011 for a grand total of $ 24,000. The donation will help efforts to educate citizens/residents and transform people?s lives by improving health and economic productivity to end the cycle of poverty. ?Even though Name Bubbles is a small business, with the help of our customers and friends, many small acts of giving will assist Water For People in making a difference in the world,? said Michelle Brandriss, Founder and CEO of Name Bubbles.

?Inadequate sanitation and unsafe drinking water causes disease and death around the world, and children are the most vulnerable,? says Brandriss. ?When I first learned about Water For People, I was inspired by their belief, commitment, and partnership approach in helping communities develop long-lasting local solutions that help build a world where all people have access to safe drinking water and sanitation. Name Bubbles is a global internet retailer specializing in children?s name labels, so supporting families and, in particular, children around the world, made Water For People a natural choice for our first ever giving program.?

?We are so thrilled and thankful for the support of Name Bubbles and your many customers. The scale of the global water and sanitation crisis is massive, yet solvable. Water For People is committed to creating lasting change and impact for water and sanitation in the developing world now and forever. We believe that true change will only be achieved if everyone commits to improving these conditions throughout the world, today and tomorrow. My sincere thanks to you all for being a part of the solution.? Ned Breslin, CEO of Water For People.

According to a 2008 report from the World Health Organization (WHO) and UNICEF, approximately 884 million people lack access to clean water and 2.6 billion people do not have adequate sanitation. ?This problem is staggering, and we wanted to help Water For People create solutions that will ensure that whole communities including schools and health clinics in the developing world have access to water and sanitation resources that last. As a business, we could act, support, and offer a product that Name Bubbles? customers could really use, and at the same time help Water For People transform communities. I?m honored to say that by working together, with our generous customers, Name Bubbles has made a significant contribution to Water For People and the families they help empower,? Brandriss said.

Winners Announced of Ecotourism Travel Blog Contest Sponsored by whl.travel

New York (PRWEB) December 17, 2011

From a shortlist of 10 finalists established by popular opinion, the three winners have been named of the ecotourism travel blog contest sponsored by whl.travel, a global online travel-booking network of mindful local travel experts. The goal of the ecotourism travel blog contest was to promote ecotourism and responsible travel through shared stories about real-world adventures. Each of the three winners has now identified an ecotourism adventure prize for two people to be enjoyed courtesy of whl.travel.

Hosted by MyNatour, an online community of people who believe in healthy, authentic and responsible tourism, the ecotourism travel blog contest kicked off in September with an invitation to travelers to share written tales about their most exciting ecotourism experiences. Participants were given a limit of 1,000 words and five evocative photographs through which to tell their stories. They were also required to provide tips about ecotourism in their selected destinations or reflections about how they might help better preserve that particular destination through ecotourism practices.

The shortlist of 10 finalists was reviewed by a panel of judges that included representatives from The International Ecotourism Society (TIES), Tourism Concern, MyNatour and the WHL Group, the parent company of whl.travel. Ethan Gelber, the Chief Communication Officer of the WHL Group, said that he was looking for three qualities when determining the best of the ecotourism travel blog contest finalists: the first was “how much time and effort was taken by the person to think about what an ecotourism experience is;” the second was “how carefully they made a choice of the experience they wanted to live through;” and the third was “whether or not the experience was as rich as they thought it would be.”

“By sharing such experiences through the travel blogs contest with fellow travelers, we hope we can slowly start to build awareness among consumers and support for the cause of responsible travel,” explained Davide Valin, founder of MyNatour. “One of the most inspiring mottos (by Rabindranath Tagore) here at MyNatour is: ‘Tell me, I’ll forget. Show me, I may remember. But involve me and I’ll understand.’ We strongly believe that only together can travelers and the industry make a real difference.”

Ecotourism Prize Packages in Off-the-Beaten-Track Places

The three winners of the ecotourism travel blog contest were given the opportunity to choose their prize trips from a selection of six ecotourism adventures offered by whl.travel local partners in Albania, Ecuador, Estonia, Laos and Yemen.

Carrying the top spot for her piece about a volunteer trip in northern India, first-prize author Shivya has selected the highland region of the Albanian Alps as her next mountain escape. Hosted by Outdoor Albania, the whl.travel local connection in Albania, Shivya will set off on a five-day guided trek through some of the country’s most vivid scenery. Activities include a ferry trip along Lake Koman, a visit to the Valbona Valley and a trek to the Theth Valley surrounded by high mountain passes and peaks.

Taking second place for her post about an eco-escape to Belize, author Hobbers will head deep into Estonia’s Soomaa National Park (‘soomaa’ translates more or less as ‘land of the bogs’). Surrounded by vast floodplains and rivers, she and a companion will enjoy a wilderness experience in an area known for its canoeing, ‘bog-shoeing,’ beavers and berry picking ? all courtesy of Soomaa.com, the whl.travel local connection in Estonia.

The third-place winner was a story about an ecotourism oasis in Terya Bugu, in the heart of Mali. For his vivid descriptions, author Mario Difra will travel from his home in Italy to southwest Laos, a region replete with jungles, raging rivers and outstanding cultural heritage. Once there, he will embark on a high-flying treetop adventure by zipline, followed by a Mekong cruise to the World Heritage Site of Wat Phou ? all made possible by Teamworkz, the whl.travel local connection in Laos.

The three ecotourism packages that were not selected were a rainforest adventure in Ecuador, a Galapagos Island tour and a visit to Sana’a and Soqotra in Yemen.

NuBeginnings Named on Tatler?s Top Spas List for 2012

London, United Kingdom (PRWEB) December 12, 2011

Recently, Tatler Magazine ranked the two NuBeginnings workout retreats as Top Spas for 2011 and 2012. NuBeginnings, which is the leading weight loss boot camp, was specifically designed to help clients lose weight in a week. The luxurious retreats were designed to be an intersection of lavish surroundings and a fitness boot camp. The NuBeginnings clients, which have access to different exercise routines that are designed to be both challenging and fat burning, maximize time at the retreat with fitness, health training, and a proper diet.

NuBeginnings has a weight loss retreat in North Devon, United Kingdom and recently opened a new location at Ch?teau de Milly in France. Tatler reports that the average guest at “NuBeginnings France” loses around 10 pounds in a week and that its luxurious accommodations that make it one of the best weight loss and fitness boot camps in France.

NuBeginnings was founded by Victoria Wills in order to create a weight loss holiday that would help her clients simultaneously lose weight fast and enjoy their holiday. She strives to create a weight loss holiday that feels like a true holiday and help clients enjoy themselves and relax while they lose weight and exercise.

Since only nine guests are allowed into the English weight loss boot camp per week and ten guests at a time at NuBeginnings France per week, the program is exclusive and provides clients the attention they need. Even the most discriminating guests will enjoy the small, personalized rooms with comfortably lavender eye pillows, Wi-Fi connection and the free standing baths. Although the number of guests is limited, NuBeginnings is open year-around and the second location has made it easier for clients to secure their desired travel itinerary.

Each day begins with a healthy meal and an exercise activity such as a hike. The hikes, which are designed for weight loss, are both grueling and relaxing. After finishing the hike, guests may continue exercising with boxing classes, cardio workouts, interval training, Pilates and stretching. Other activities include beach games such as volleyball, circuit training and cooking demonstrations.

The cooking demonstrations focus on teaching people how to cook and eat low fat, healthy foods. The highly-trained chefs train people to cook and eat foods that have a low glycemic index. These are foods that are slowly digested, keep the body feeling full longer, and prevent blood sugar spikes that can leave people feeling tired. The programs also promote healthy and fast metabolic rates.

Tatler’s report focuses mostly on the exercise aspect of the camps. The report explains that while the exercise is intensive, there is plenty of time for relaxation. Tatler refers to the relaxation times as “blessed treats” that include magic massages and hypnotherapy. Although these times are primarily included for client enjoyment and relaxation, they are also used to enhance the overall health of the individual.

Since Victoria Wills strives to provider her clients with the perfect balance between holiday and weight loss, she is not surprised that her spa is consistently rated as a top spa by Tatler. While clients are expected to follow the rigorous exercise routines and improve their eating habits, they are also pampered by world renowned chefs and treated to massages. Visitors are sure to leave the spa feeling healthier, rejuvenated, and will likely tell people that they have had a life-changing experience.

The NuBeginnings uses a “challenge” and “pamper” approach that has caused Tatler to consistently rank them a top weight loss spa worldwide. Due to this unique approach, the luxurious accommodations, and the effectiveness of their weight loss methods, Tatler has once again awarded NuBeginnings with this prestigious honor.

?Giving is Winning? ? The Campaign Gets off to a Flying Start!

(PRWEB) December 12, 2011

With a few months to go until the Games in London, the ?Giving is Winning? campaign is gathering momentum. The IOC, in partnership with the United Nations High Commissioner for Refugees (UNHCR) and the London 2012 Organising Committee (LOCOG), is increasing its efforts to ensure that this third campaign is just as successful as in the previous editions, in Athens in 2004 and Beijing in 2008.

The National Olympic Committees (NOCs), International Federations (IFs), sponsors, recognised organisations, and members and supporters of the Olympic Movement have all been invited to participate in this solidarity campaign, donating unused clothing and sports outfits, which will then be distributed by the UNHCR to various refugee camps throughout the world.

The following are some examples of recent NOC donations. The British Olympic Association has donated more than 15,000 items, which have been distributed in Serbia, in collaboration with the UNHCR. In Singapore, the NOC is currently organisation a collection among all the athletes who participated in the South-East Asian Games. The Iranian and Cypriot NOCs have also made major donations. As for the Chinese Taipei NOC, it has made a commitment to collecting the equivalent of a skip of clothing for this campaign.

The TOP sponsors have also made a commitment to this campaign. The Dow company has announced it is holding a collection within its organisation in Switzerland.

Objective: 100,000 articles for London

For the first campaign, in Athens in 2004, some 30,000 items were collected. Four years later, in Beijing in 2008, a total of 75,000 items of clothing were donated. For the Games in London, we are aiming at the 100,000 mark. We are counting on you to join us in providing clothing to millions of people in need, thus giving them hope. Every single item counts!

Big Mountain Heli-skiing, Fat Skis Land at Stowe, Stratton

Valdez, AK (PRWEB) December 17, 2011

The unexpected combination of big mountain heli-skiing and fat skis are coming to surprise the East this Christmas as steep skiing icon Dean Cummings presents his new skis and new movie at Stowe and Stratton Mountain ski resorts.

Cummings, former US Freestyle Ski Team Captain, World Extreme Skiing Champion and Alaska heli-skiing pioneer will be touring ski areas around New England this holiday season to showcase his signature line of skis and his newest ski film, ?The Steep Life.?

?The Steep Life? chronicles how Cummings? lifelong commitment to skiing leads to epic solo first descents this past spring of Meteorite Mountain and The Tusk in Alaska?s storied Chugach Range.

More proof of his commitment to skiing is H2o Outdoor Gear, the company Cummings founded last year to bring to the Lower 48 products developed and tested to perform and withstand the rigorous ski conditions of Alaska?s imposing Chugach Range.

H2o?s ski line includes three models of skis in three different lengths all designed to perform well in any snow condition. The hybrid powder and carving skis range in width from the Tazlina, at 108mm underfoot, to the Kodiaks at 120mm and the Karen?citos, 133mm. Until now, conventional thinking presumes fat skis designed for the endless powder fields of Alaska won?t perform on the hard snowpack commonly found at ski areas of the eastern US. Cummings assures skeptics that his skis? unique Lay Down Technology has created “the most forgiving ski for the greatest variety of conditions on the market today? that will carve up the slopes in the East as efficiently as they shred the deep powder in Valdez.

The Tazlina, Kodiak and Karen?cito models are available in a choice of three lengths each with a unique and corresponding radius that works to optimize performance. The custom handmade wood core skis, made in the USA, are built for all environments: Big Mountain, All Mountain, Backcountry and Resort.

Cummings realizes skiing is believing which is why he?ll make his skis available to visitors on the slopes of Stowe and Stratton.

Stowe

Dec. 20 Vermont Ski and Snowboard Museum, 6 p.m. ?The Steep Life? film and award-winning Be Snow Smart avalanche safety program. $ 5 cover benefits the museum.

Dec. 21 Stowe Mountain Resort. Ski with Dean; meet at 4 Runner Quad for laps from 10 ? Noon and 1:30 ? 3:30. Those wising to demo the skis themselves can do so by stopping by Today?s Edge on Mountain Road, Dec. 21 only. No charge.

Stratton

Dec. 27. All day. Ski with Dean and demo the skis from 1 ? 3:30 p.m. Meet at the ski school private lesson meeting area. Screening of the ?Steep Life? film begins at 5 p.m. in the West Wing of the Base Lodge. Hosted by Stratton Activity Hub. No admission fee.

Participants at all events can collect a coupon with details on how to enter a drawing for a free trip for two to Cummings H2o Guides heli-skiing operation in Valdez, AK.

About Dean Cummings. New Mexico native Dean Cummings has been pushing the limits of big mountain skiing since 1991. Many of his most impressive ski achievements have been documented in nearly 50 films by such noted ski industry media as Warren Miller Entertainment, Teton Gravity Research and Matchstick Productions. In 1996, Dean founded H2o Guides and ever since, has been pioneering safety protocols and opening up uncharted terrain within the 2.6 million acres he has permitted within Alaska?s Chugach Range. In 2011, Dean founded H2o Outdoor Gear with a vision of bringing to the Lower 48, ski equipment developed in the demanding outdoor laboratory that is his backyard in Valdez, AK.

American Soldier and Nurse?s Love Survive amid the Horrors of War

MIDLAND, Texas (PRWEB) December 13, 2011

A gripping historical romance is set to touch readers? hearts as author Joyce Shaughnessy tells them a tale of a blossoming love affair amidst the backdrop of World War II in the Philippine Islands. Made available through Xlibris, Blessed Are the Merciful is told from the viewpoint of an American soldier and an American army nurse.

Nine hours after Pearl Harbor, the Japanese attack the Philippines, starting a war against the United States that was to last four years. Elton and Susan have fallen in love and there is no escape from the Japanese. The soldiers fight desperately for six months on the Bataan Peninsula, with the Army nurses at their side, rendering aid when possible. Finally, dying of starvation and disease, the Army discovers that the United States cannot send any supplies or men to fight the Japanese because they are committed to the European campaign first. The Army ultimately must surrender.

Elton is forced to walk the Death March and to witness horrifying atrocities during the rest of the war at Camp O?Donnell, Cabanatuan, and on the Hell Ships, where Americans are murdered by Japanese cruelty and neglect. Susan is interred at Santo Tomas and secretly aids the Filipino Guerilla movement. Following his escape from a Hell Ship, Elton becomes involved with the Sixth Army Rangers when they free Cabanatuan Prison Camp behind Japanese lines.

Although this is a work of fiction, the story involves the inhumanity and terrible consequences of war. It is a story about what happens to ordinary people when they are caught in extraordinary times. In understanding what happens when war is waged, people can strive toward the goal so that history does not repeat itself.
